circa 1900, possibly an 'English Model', with slightly tapering two-stage 24in. blued barrel, the top-flat signed 'J. STEVENS A & T CO. CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS USA, PAT APR 17 94', folding ring fore-sight with ivory bead, buck-horn rear-sight (elevator ramp missing), colour hardened slab-sided central hammer action, the top-tang fitted with a 'Lyman' style column peep-sight, walnut butt-stock (renewed) with moulded 'Stevens' plastic heel-plate, replacement fore-end, strong amount of original finish to metalwork
